Blog / Intergenerational Classes at LullaBaby
Last month, the vibrant members of our Lullababy Kidderminster group, including our cherished mums, babies, and Group Leader Stacy, embarked on a heart-warming visit to Holmwood Care Centre. This marked a momentous occasion as it was the first time our group had the pleasure of hosting a class at Holmwood, an event filled with anticipation and excitement.
Witnessing the beautiful interaction between two different generations was truly heartening, creating an atmosphere of warmth and connection. The session itself was a lively "rock and roll" affair, complete with musical instruments, pom poms, and contagious laughter.
Intergenerational relationships can benefit both the old and young in numerous ways. For the elderly, interacting with younger generations provides a sense of purpose, connection, and joy, combating feelings of loneliness and isolation. They can share their wisdom and life experiences, nurturing a sense of fulfilment and leaving a legacy for the younger ones. Meanwhile, little ones gain valuable lessons, empathy, and a broader perspective on life by spending time with older adults.
We ended the session with sensory delights like twinkling lights, bubbles, and a beloved story, leaving everyone with memories to cherish.
This incredible experience has filled us with enthusiasm, and we eagerly look forward to continuing these uplifting sessions in the future.
