For general enquiries please contact your local Lullababy franchise below.
First of all, I would like to thank you for the unwavering support you have shown LullaBaby. Whether you have continued classes through our online provision, recommended us, bought one of our Sensory Boxes, engaged with our social media, or simply sent messages of support. Please know that you have sustained us through this truly unprecedented and challenging time.
LullaBaby’s aim when it was established in 2018 was, and continues to be to, “Educate, stimulate and promote child development. Providing parents/carers and their little one’s with vital learning opportunities in a fun, friendly and supportive environment.”
LullaBaby is more than just a business, it is a passion project and one of the prerequisites of joining the LullaBaby team is to have a genuine desire to promote children’s development. I’m incredibly proud to say, that even under such challenging times we have stayed true to our aim and achieved exactly this.
We have delivered numerous courses to new parents with ‘lockdown’ babies; parents and babies, who at a time when human contact and support is more important than ever, they have had to remain at home and navigate their way through the early weeks and months in a way that hasn’t been seen before.
We have continued to offer classes to our regular babies and toddlers, as well as welcoming many new ones along the way too. This continuity has proved invaluable for our little ones and their parents. The feedback we have received from our online classes has been phenomenal and seeing photos and videos of the children engaging with the classes and their class leaders has been truly heart-warming.
During lockdown we also developed our Sensory Box concept; a box of specifically chosen sensory items, along with a development guide of activity ideas for each item and an explanation of how development is being promoted as a result. These are being posted out all over the UK and continue to promote child development at home.
The LullaBaby team has worked tirelessly to continue to offer the same high quality developmental classes, often in challenging circumstances (we’re all Mums too trying to home school, manage toddlers during live classes and raise our own babies). I am immensely proud of the team for their commitment to the LullaBaby vision through such uncertain times.
So, as the government begins to ease the restrictions of the last 3 months, I am incredibly excited to share with you the plans we have put in place in order to begin offering ‘in person classes’ once again, (each individual franchisee will have their own schedule for reopening, so please contact your local class leader for further information), but do be reassured that the safety measures and changes we are implementing will be done so across the whole company.
What are we doing to keep you safe?
We know that you are desperate to get back to group. We understand the worries you have about your child’s development and their social interactions, as well as the benefits of classes to maternal mental health. Therefore, we are implementing the following procedures to our classes and these will be regularly reviewed:
Cleanliness – At LullaBaby we have always taken great pride in the cleanliness of our equipment, so this isn’t something new. Equipment, musical instruments etc have always been cleaned between uses, however we are implementing extra measures, including wiping down mats, baby changing facilities and door handles with antibacterial after each session.
Hand gel – Hand gel will be available for you to use on arrival and departure of the venue.
Shared resources – For the time being will not participate in activities which require the involvement of shared resources, this will include the sensory area. We acknowledge that being around the sensory area is the point in the class where you had an opportunity to chat and make friends and we know what an important aspect this is to class. We will now include a social element to the beginning of each class, an opportunity to share how your week has been and to support your fellow classmates.
Room layout – We are changing the layout of our classes in-line with current guidelines. Rather than being sat in a circle, you will have your own individual station to sit at, giving everyone the opportunity to adequately distance themselves from each other.
Personal belongings – We are kindly asking everyone to keep their personal belongings with them at their individual station.
Class sizes – We have always prided ourselves on having manageable class sizes to ensure you have the very best experience at a LullaBaby class and to make sure that you know you are more than just a number to us. This ethos will remain, but will also take into account being able to physically distance from others. The class size will be specific to each individual franchisee and the size of their venue, so please contact your local class leader for more detail.
Class times – Class times will continue to be staggered. Again, we have always acknowledged the importance of giving our customers enough time to feed and/or change their baby before setting off on their journey home. We will therefore continue to ensure that there is enough time between classes so that there isn’t a group/queue of people waiting to attend their session while the previous session finishes. We will also kindly request that you do not arrive to class until 5 minutes before your class time where possible.
Online booking – Booking for LullaBaby classes is online, with online payment options, so there doesn’t need to be a physical exchange of money. Registration and consent forms will also need to be completed and returned electronically before attending your first class.
Face coverings – Face coverings will not be compulsory when attending a LullaBaby class, but please note that individual franchisees and other parents/carers have the right to wear them should they wish to.
Illness – As ever, we request that you do not attend class if you or your baby is unwell. However, we are asking you to be especially vigilant to the symptoms of Covid-19, including, but not limited to a temperature and cough.
Online classes – We simply can’t wait to get back to classes, but we do appreciate that some people may choose to continue with online classes for the time being. We are therefore delighted to let you know that there will continue to be online content to you to engage with too.
The health of our team, customers and their children is paramount and we hope that we have demonstrated this to you in our plan to reopen classes. We look forward to announcing some class dates in due course.
Best wishes,
Jo and the LullaBaby Team
